One night, Raju* woke in the thick dark to find his face smothered and chest crushed under suffocating pressure, apparently due to a demonic attack. Terrified, he groped in the darkness, grappling with the unseen force. All he could think, all he could do, was cry out to God. He prayed for deliverance claiming the promise of Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Immediately he was released and from that night onward, Raju has put his trust in Jesus.

Raju first came to the Mukti Orchard Project at the age of 12, knowing nothing of Jesus. When he first heard the Good News through his houseparents, he refused to accept it and continued rejecting it. Only after this miraculous experience did he put his faith in Jesus as his personal Savior, Who answered his prayers and saved him from the terrifying darkness and crushing fear.

Now an adult, Raju is originally from Nepal. For the years he was in the Orchard Project, no one came to visit him, but he went to Nepal to see family once every two years. Raju is studying science with a dream to become a doctor, and in his free time, he loves to play football (soccer).
